The Church of the Ascension is perhaps Prekmurje's best known church. Situated in the village of Bogojina the church was redesigned by Slovenia's greatest architect, Jože Plečnik between 1925 and 1927. The village of Selo is the location of the Chapel of St. Nicholas, a superb Romanesque rotunda built in the mid-thirteenth century. Its interior is adorned with exceptional wall paintings. |
